Tucked just off Main Street beneath mature trees and summer blooms, the Sunflower House is a lovingly restored Carbondale original reimagined into a warm southwest-inspired retreat. Vintage charm and thoughtful modern comforts blend effortlessly throughout the home, from bay windows and cozy gathering spaces to curated design details and soft natural light. Peaceful, walkable, and full of character, it’s the kind of place that feels quietly rooted in the spirit of old Carbondale.

The Location:

  • Approximately 15 minutes to Basalt, 20 minute to Glenwood Springs, and 40 minutes to Aspen and Snowmass
  • Convenient access to the RFTA bus system and the free Carbondale Downtowner shuttle

  • Primary Bedroom: King memory foam bed with A/C mini-split
  • Guest Bedroom: Queen lodgepole bed with memory foam mattress and ceiling fan

  • All bedrooms share the main remodeled bathroom

  • Private dedicated fenced area for 1 vehicle
  • Additional public street parking available directly in front of the home on a first come, first serve basis
Linen Package: This home has crisp, white hotel-quality bedding and terry.

Booking with Aspen Leisure Co: We are conveniently headquartered in the Roaring Fork Valley to assist with anything you should need during your stay. Every home is stocked with all your household essentials, hotel-quality bedding and towels, and a starter kit of high-end bathroom products, along with an ample supply of laundry detergent, trash bags, dish soap, tissues, and more.

THINGS TO NOTE: 
  • A separate guest cabin at the rear of the property is occupied long term, however there are no shared spaces and both homes are separate and private
  • The backyard is reserved for the back cabin tenant
  • Quiet hours and neighborhood respect are appreciated during your stay
  • This home originated in the 1800's and has been lovingly restored. Because of it's historic nature, it is not perfect but has been wonderfully restored

Sunflower home in Carbondale
Cute old house very convenient to Carbondale's Main Street. We lucked out there was a wonderful Friday walk, picturesque snow, hot cocoa, horse, drawn, sideboard, wonderful shops were open many of them had treats. The team was accommodating. The house is historic and is quirky Very close to the surrounding communities

We very much enjoyed our stay. Well stocked, even TP and paper towels! The home was very clean. We had a maintence issue, contacted them and it was fixed several hours later - very prompt and friendly response. Close to downtown and great playground nearby.. our grandaughter said it was the best playground ever! You wont regret staying at Sunflower House!

The house was beautiful and comfortable for my family, with three kids age 7-13. Everything was perfect. We had plenty of room and everything we needed. The beds were comfortable. The large dining table was great for puzzles and board games. We loved that we had a dedicated parking spot and could walk to everything that Carbondale has to offer. I would note though that the primary bedroom did not have blackout shades. The sun comes in pretty bright in that clerestory window. I usually travel with an eye mas

We stayed several nights. The location is fantastic for Carbondale, and I appreciated the parking which fit our truck and was behind a gate. I definitely could tell this was managed by a business rather than a homeowner as it felt less like a home (no spices, no olive oil, soap dispensers didn?t work, and little things likes that), and they communicated their would be $100/hr fee if we were late leaving after checkout which I?ve not encountered before. The house was roomy, clean and welcoming. We (4 adults) loved having coffee out on the patio every morning, and only wished it had had a few more chairs under the roofed portion. We were there during a heat wave. There's no central a/c, but 1 bedroom has a mini-split and there are several ceiling fans in the house. The house inside is quite pretty and peaceful although it located in the town street. It?s very convenient to get any places we want. I like the roof window and glass cups and my sons like the mattress and sofa, very comfortable. They had full energy to skiing after sweet sleep. I highly recommend it!

Great location and alternative to staying in Aspen for the price. Would definitely stay again. Location is key, it's right next to all the restaurants and 2 minute walk to coffee shop. The bed in the back bedroom was definitely too soft, so if you have a bad back, sleep in the other room. This place has everything you need for cooking and a propane grill in the back for our steaks! 5 star*****

We've stayed in both the Sunflower House and their backyard cabin (Red Door Cabin) before. Both spots are gems but the Sunflower House was perfect for our needs. This house is well-appointed with plenty of space for a longer stay in the town. We had everything we needed to feel at home and the location is optimal for walking around downtown Carbondale or a launching point to explore the rest of the valley. What a delightful and wonderful little cottage we stayed at while training in Carbondale. The location was perfect and the home was well stocked. We were able to make a few dinners while we were there for the week instead of getting restaurant food the whole time. Clean home, with lots of room. Perfect sized for a small family.

Fantastic stay! Unbeatable location just off the main street, perfect for walking around. Very clean, easy check in/out, felt like an old building but nicely updated and beautifully decorated; didn't feel like a cookie-cutter AirBnB, more like staying in a friend's home. This is great house located one block from Main Street in Carbondale. The home is nicely appointed, all furniture is in great shape. Kitchen was very useable and well stocked with everything needed to set a pretty dining room table. All appliances appear to be brand new. Bed was comfortable, linens and towels are plush. We can highly recommend the Sunflower House as a charmingly renovated home, in a great location, right in the heart of Carbondale. Many of the local restaurants and attractions are in walking distance. For those who want to stay in, the kitchen and dining areas are excellent. And, in general, the home itself is well designed, with high quality finishes and furnishings. Adorable home literal steps from Main Street Carbondale. Good separation between the bedrooms allowed early and late risers to get along. The large dining table was great for meals and game night. The decor choices complemented the historic space well. Just wish it had a hot tub to soak in after a long day of skiing.

Your home was so beautifully done. Everything was so nicely decorated and so clean. I?ve staying in a lot of homes and this was the best one yet. Fully stocked with everything we needed. The robes and record player were such a nice touch. Location was great, we went to Aspen and honestly I prefer Carbondale. This charming house was impeccable and definitely staying on my favorites list for when I visit Aspen. This beautiful home is an easy commute to Aspen and located in town so you can walk to restaurants and shops. Each bedroom had extra blankets, pillows and just loved that they provided bathrobes.
